North Carolina has 8 million acres of parkland and geographic regions, including the Coastal Plain, Piedmont, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Notable attractions include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (part of which is in Tennessee), Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.
