This park has everything!
This wonderful park next to the Uwharrie National Forest is a fantastic spot, especially for families. It offers loads of activities -- hiking, ranger presentations, swimming (a Civilian Conservation Corps built pool), boat rentals, fishing, and the historic Kron House.
The campsites, in three loops, are big and nicely spaced out. All of the bathhouses and some other structures are currently under renovation (early 2023) so check to see what is open! The improvements will be great.
We love loop A for tent camping. It is quiet and has great access to trails. Highly recommend driving to the top of Morrow Mountain and hiking all the way back down to the campground!
