Timed Entry Permits Are Gone at Yosemite, Glacier, Arches, and Mount Rainier

I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Find me:

A few major U.S. national parks that used to require timed entry or vehicle reservations have dropped those programs for 2026. That includes Yosemite, Glacier, Arches, and Mount Rainier.

Because of that, we’ve removed timed-entry permit scans for those parks from Campnab.

This does not affect campground scans. If you already had scans running for campgrounds in any of those parks, they’re still running as usual. The only change is that we’re no longer checking for timed-entry permits, because those permits are no longer being issued.

So, from a member perspective, there’s nothing you need to do.

The broader shift seems to be that these parks are moving away from blanket timed-entry systems and relying more on other ways of managing crowds, like parking controls, shuttles, or temporary access restrictions in especially busy areas. So while this may simplify trip planning a bit, it does not necessarily mean these parks will feel less busy in peak season.

For Campnab, this was a pretty straightforward change. Our goal is to help people monitor the reservations and permits that actually exist. Once these timed-entry permits disappeared, it no longer made sense to keep that scan type around. Leaving it in place would just create confusion.

So we removed it.

If you’re using Campnab to watch for campground cancellations in Yosemite, Glacier, Arches, or Mount Rainier, everything continues to work as before. We’ve just taken away an option that no longer applies.

As always, we’d rather keep things clear and useful than leave outdated scan options hanging around.
