Are you experiencing alert déjà vu?

I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Find me:

Have you received multiple alerts that were all identical? You aren’t alone. We’ve sent a number of these recently, and it sucks. We’re sorry about this error.

It turns out that an intermittent API glitch led our system to see some campsite availabilities as being reset. When this happened, our system sometimes registered it as a new availability and kicked out an alert. (In some cases this happened repeatedly.)

Once we learned of this, Eric S. reworked our system to better deal with these situations. We believe this issue is now resolved, but sometimes these things sneak back up on us.

We integrate with multiple booking systems, and some that rely on the same platform are on different software versions (each with its quirks). As you can likely imagine, this introduces a lot of variables.

Even small changes to booking systems can cause issues for us. Additionally, our bug patches sometimes create new problems. (Fun, right?)

That said, Eric S. is diligent on this front. He’s constantly pushing new releases. He addresses most issues before members like you will even notice them. That said, some problems are more subtle and transient. These can take more investigation and time to resolve.

So, if you notice anything that seems wrong with your scans, please let us know. We’ll do our very best to correct the issue as quickly as possible and update you on our progress.
