Camper reviews for Meeks Bay at Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit

Nice little campground on a beach

This campground is located next to the beach, and it takes a minute or two to walk from your site to the lake. Sites are mainly small, mostly shaded, but with little to no privacy. Some sites share the same paved pad, so plan accordingly if camping with a van. Clean flush toilets but no shower. Bears are visiting every night starting 10pm, and bear proof food boxes are provided.

Great family camping

Amazing campground with beach on site. Great for the kids with bike friendly loops and a beach spot everyone could enjoy. Close to all the Tahoe amenities but far enough away that doesn’t feel like you are camping in town. Good spot for base camp before backpacking trip into desolation wilderness too. Highly recommend!
