Camper reviews for Delta Grove at Cultus Lake Provincial Park

Almost perfect!

Delta Grove is one of the campgrounds at Cultus Lake Provincial Park. It’s a smallish campground with approximately 60 campsites. This one books up really quickly given how close the campground is to the lake.

The campsites at Delta Grove have crushed rock pads and are generally pretty level. Most of the ones adjacent to the lake allow for easy beach access, which makes for a nice spot to have a morning coffee and look out at the view—or spend the entire day.

Delta Grove isn’t that private feeling. The campsites are a bit close, and the limited groundcover / shrubbery result in you seeing neighbouring campers. Also, there can be some amount of noise from the (surprisingly busy) road next to the park.

Potable water is made available from a number of spots in the campground. There’s also a full washroom facility near the entrance with flush toilets and warm showers.

We got out as a family this past weekend, as we got lucky with an alert for a lakeside opening. (We were doubly-lucky as the forecast switched from full rain to warm summer-like temperatures.) We spent much of our time there running from our trailer sauna to the lake for brisk autumn swims.

The hike up Teapot Mountain (across the road) is short and breaks up the day a bit. If you have kids, they’ll likely enjoy looking out for all of the “hidden” teapots and keeping count of how many they’ve spotted.

I suppose this is part of what makes Cultus Lake so special. It’s only an hour or two from Vancouver, allowing for a nice getaway—and it still has those mild coastal conditions that allow for camping late in the season.
