Definition of heat stroke
A severe form of heat injury in which the body’s core temperature is greater than 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Prolonged exposure to excessive heat and dehydration can cause heatstroke. Symptoms include nausea, seizures, disorientation, and loss of consciousness. Heatstroke is serious and can result in organ damage and even death.
