Definition of booking hold
A booking hold is a temporary period during which a campsite or accommodation is unavailable to other campers while someone is in the process of reserving it. Booking holds help prevent multiple people from booking the same site at the same time.
An example of booking hold in a sentence
The site looked available at first, but it was actually under a booking hold while another camper completed checkout.
