Some help for planning camping trips

I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Find me:

Most Campnab members know exactly where they want to camp, but those parks are sold out. So, they use Campnab to scan those campgrounds—and get alerts for newly canceled campsite reservations. As such, almost all of our effort goes into scanning parks efficiently, answering members’ questions, and helping them get alerts for the campsites they’d like to visit.

Occasionally, campers reach out to us for advice on where to camp. Sometimes, we make recommendations, but we’re only two people—and have only camped in so many places. As such, our recommendations are mostly limited to camping in B.C. (up here in the Great White North, eh?) and what other campers have told us.

To offer a better starting point for campers who are planning trips, we’re improving our state and province summary pages. You can view these by starting in our Parks section and navigating to the area you’re interested in. For example, here are the pages for Alberta, California, and Florida.

If you are planning a camping trip, you can use these pages to research the area you’re interested in. These pages offer a handful of photos and some links to camping articles. You’ll also find a list of parks, a map with park locations, and shortcuts to our members’ favorite parks in that area. We’re also compiling a brief guide for each state/province with notable camping information and some questions and answers.

I’d love to say these pages are perfect, but that isn’t the case. We’ve only started working on these, and many only have cursory information in place. It’s a lot of work to collect and sort all of this information for you. As such, we’ll keep working on this, and you should see each page filled in over the year ahead.

If you’re interested in lending a hand, we welcome you to contact us noting any errors you spot on these pages. Also, your input is valuable to us and other Campnab members. So, if you’d like to contribute a park review, we’d appreciate the help.
