I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)
Find me:
A few years back, Andrew got in touch. (He’s a Campnab member who lives here in Vancouver.) After a handful of emails, he invited us to lunch. As a fellow camper and software developer, it was great to meet, share stories, and snack on some of Burnaby’s tastiest Thai food.
Andrew mentioned some features he wished Campnab included during our meal and coffee. One was the option to pause his plan during the off-season. We’d received this request from several members, so we added hibernation last November.
His other request was for scan naming. As Andrew camps extensively in Canada and the U.S., he ends up with a lot of scans. He figured that being able to create a unique name for each one would make his scans easier to sort through.
Only two people (Andrew and Dani) have requested scan naming on Campnab. Nevertheless, it’s the kind of thing we think other members of our community will find handy. As such, we’ve now added scan naming, allowing you to better organize your scans.
Want to rename a scan for yourself? Pull up your scans panel and navigate to the scan you wish to rename. Then place your cursor in the name’s text field and type your scan’s new name—and that’s it! The system will save your new scan name automatically; you can edit it whenever you like.
What should you name your scans? Dani (the second person to request this feature) noted wanting to use names like “Birthday Week” or “Spring Break”. Something short and descriptive might be helpful, but that part is all up to you.
