Definition of synthetic insulation
A non-organic insulating material created made with intertwined filaments of polyester fibers. These clusters trap warm air in pockets, helping to maintain body temperature. Synthetic insulation replicates the quality of down insulation but is less susceptible to wet and humid conditions. It also dries faster than down and tends to be more affordable.

We had a harebrained idea to create a dictionary containing every single camping term we came across. Admittedly, this is taking some effort—and leaving us with less time for camping. D’oh!
