I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

If you’re participating in The Camping Games, you might be curious as to how you currently rank. Fair enough. If I were playing, I’d probably wonder the same.
Here’s the deal, though: The Camping Games is a sort of rinky-dink contest. I’m putting it together from the side of my desk, and I’m figuring things out as we move along.
This means that I’m manually moderating every park review. I’m attributing points and calculating tallies in a spreadsheet. Point updates are just emails from me to participants.
The upside with all of this is that I’m getting a better sense of how our scoring works. This is helping us retool and refine the contest as we go. Points scoring is also changing over the course of this month, as we better understand how those work.
Did I mention the reviews? All y’all who’ve posted in the past week have contributed some great park reviews! These are detailed, insightful, and sometimes amusing.
Want to take part? You can start by writing a park review. (Do it! You can win prizes, and help other campers learn which parks they should visit… or not.)
Since we don’t have a leaderboard for The Camping Games, I’m posting one here. Every morning, I’ll pop in and update the current ranks and scores. (Sometimes I sleep in, so, some days might be a little later than others.)
The contest is now closed. Here are the final rankings:
