Main Camp (sites 131-188)

Thanks to camp nab - I nabbed a perfect camping site during busy spring break at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Our campsite had the river flowing right next to it. It was a unique trip, for mother and son camping alone for the first time, and I am glad I was able to plan it at the last minute.

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is great- I hear there are mosquitoes later in summer around the river but for spring it was perfect. It got chilly at night - for which we were ill prepared and we moved our sleeping bags in the car. Loved the wildflowers and the hikes, the buzzard hike was especially memorable with views of the Pacific Ocean.

Just 3 hrs from east bay, it was a beautiful drive and overall amazing camping experience!

I stayed at two campsites, 156 and then 142, and both were excellent. The campground is clean and the sites are secluded enough while still feeling part of the larger campground. 142 was a really beautiful site. I would come back in a heartbeat.
