I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Find me:

Eric Shelkie doesn’t seem to get this whole holiday deal. He spent part of his Christmas break on his computer, coding. The upside? You can now use Campnab to scan even more parks!

We already scanned much of Yellowstone National Park, including Indian Creek, Lewis Lake, Mammoth, Pebble Creek, and Slough Creek Campgrounds. We also were able to monitor and send alerts for backcountry permits, day-use tickets, and the snowmobile access program at Yellowstone.

Many of you asked why Fishing Bridge RV Park and some others were missing from Campnab. The answer was that Yellowstone offers reservations through two different booking systems. One is Recreation.gov, which we’ve scanned for years. The other is Yellowstone National Park Lodges, which we didn’t integrate with.

As of last week, we’ve been monitoring the campgrounds operated by Yellowstone National Park Lodges—and sending alerts for new availabilities. This change adds 5 Yellowstone campgrounds and 9 Yellowstone hotels/lodges to our scans.

These campgrounds include Bridge Bay Campground, Canyon Campground, Fishing Bridge RV Park, Grant Campground, and Madison Campground. Filtering runs differently on these campgrounds than on others because the underlying booking system is built for hotels. So, for our “Specific Sites” selection, you’ll have to select a type of campsite/accommodation rather than a site number.

You can also use Campnab to get alerts for cancellations at Yellowstone accommodations, including Canyon Lodge, Grant Village, the Lake Lodge Cabins, Lake Yellowstone Hotel, Mammoth Hotel, Old Faithful Inn, Old Faithful Lodge, Old Faithful Snow Lodge, and Roosevelt Lodge.

We hope this new addition will be useful for those of you who’ve been itching to visit Yellowstone National Park. 🙂 If you’d like to create a scan to monitor these campgrounds and lodges you can create a scan for Yellowstone National Park Lodges.

P.S. On a mostly unrelated note, thanks to Ash and Clayton for sending that lovely bottle of Heart Iron whisky. It’s delicious—and a nice holiday treat!
