I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Thanks to one of our new members for telling us about this article by Mike Moffitt on SFGATE. It addresses what could happen at Yosemite, if California moves to Stage 3 of reopening.

A few key points for campers:

- Lower Pines Campground (60 sites) and North Pines Campground (81 sites) would open

- Backpackers’ campgrounds would open

- Hodgdon, Crane Flat, and Bridalveil campgrounds might open at a later date

- Day visitors would need to apply for day-use permits

- Approximate 3,600 daily vehicles allowed in the park

- There’d be crowd-control at some popular destinations

- Some trails would convert to one-way traffic

Half Dome’s cables would be ready for hikers with previously acquired permits by June 5

The article notes that this plan was presented via video conference on Monday, and still requires federal approval. There’s no launch date, and it won’t happen until California moves into its Stage 3 reopening phase.
