I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Find me:

We get a lot of questions about parks. We’re also avid campers who’re looking for new parks to visit. As such, we like to do our own research on provincial, state, and national parks.

I’d love to say that this research is fun, but it’s actually a fair bit of work. Parks often change, leaving certain information out-of-date. Also, some content on the web just isn’t fact-checked (go figure), so you never know entirely what you can trust.

Our process is pretty exhaustive. We do a deep dive into researching each park, collect a heap of notes, and factcheck them to the best of our ability. We also look into other aspects of these parks that interest us—like each park’s history, local attractions, and nearby activities.

One of the parks we recently did this for is Carpinteria State Beach. You can view the park summary and factsheet on our Carpinteria State Beach Park page. Caught a mistake? Let me know and I’ll correct it. And if you’ve been there, and have opinions on it, maybe post a review?

Thanks to Dave Hoefler for his lovely photo of Carpinteria.
