I’m one of the two people working on Campnab. I like to run, ski, bike, and camp with my family and friends. (I love saunas.)

Find me:

Hey Nabbers! I just wanted to give you a quickly update on what we’re doing here, behind the scenes at Campnab. As lockdown guidelines have loosened, we’ve seen a lot of new interest in camping. It looks like a many folks are going to sleep in a tent for the first time, this summer!

Also, many parks’ websites have been in flux over the past months. This has added some complexity to monitoring for cancellations. Also, a number of parks’ booking systems have changed recently. As a result, Eric S. has been working some long hours to ensure that we can keep spotting new cancellations for you.

We’re now in our fourth year of operating Campnab. Over these years, we’ve learned that parks’ websites are continually changing. As such, a big part of what you pay us for is to keep on top of these changes and ensure that you have uninterrupted service. We’re getting better at this all the time. We’re also making our monitoring more efficient—so we minimize any impact on parks’ servers.

In the next few days we’ll push a big Campnab update. It’s better able to spot and automatically adapt to system changes. You won’t see any of this in our app/website. That said, it will makes the backend more stable and adaptable—which should help offer you an even better service.

BTW: Pictured in the photo above is Eric S. mountain biking from the campsite at Nairn Falls Park, just outside of Pemberton.
